Legal Question in Family Law in California

my kids are from a prior marriage. i have recently been remarried to a different women. i owe child support and arears. in The state of California can they garnish my new wife wages, since i dont have a job?

You new wife's wages cannot be garnished, however, if you don't have a job, I would suggest that you get representation to go back into court to get a modification of your support amount.

Although her wages cannot be garnished, if you file for joint tax returns, or if you hold any joint accounts with her, those returns and/or accounts can be levied to pay for your arrears. Good luck!
