Legal Question in Family Law in California

Any laws to relinquish any obligations for unwated pregnancy?

A female I briefly dated is now pregnant(6 weeks). I am 30, have no children and desire to not have any at this time. The female is 29, with 1 child and wants to have this baby. She say's she will take all responsibility for this child but legally she can come back asking for child support. Is there any laws that could relinquish me from any financial or parental support for this child for a situation like this?

Your opportunity to make your own choice about becoming a father has now come to an end. She makes all the choices concerning delivery of the child, you have no legal input, other than what she allows you. You can be held responsible for the medical costs of the delivery and child support. I have two suggestions, see an attorney and take a parenting course. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
