Does my lawyer have to go to the trial setting conference or can I go instead?

You don't want your lawyer to go to the trial setting conference? How is he/ she to know the deadlines for filing trial documents, and the format of papers for the trial? What would be the point of having a lawyer who didn't go to court and schedule these things for you?

Once you have an attorney of record they must make appearances for you. You can go, but they must go.
