Leave the State with my son now
hello.
i have been in a relationship with a man for 8 years. we have a 6 year old son together. we live together in a home that he purchased and he pays for everything. i do not work as i quit my job per his request. this man is verbal and physical abusive. i would like to leave the state with my son to get away from this man. can i get in any legal trouble if i were to leave the state with our son without informing him?

Yes. You should obtain a domestic violence restraining order against him. The restraining order should include an order giving you custody. You could also request an order allowing you to move out of state. Contact the local abused spouse organization for help.
