legal age for children to stay home alone overnight?

Is there a law that says how old a child has to be to be left home alone, as in overnight? If so, what's the legal age?

I do not believe there is a law that specifies age. each child is different. It is the responsibility of the parent to see that the circumstances are such that the child is not endangered.
