Legal Custody

What do I have to do in order to obtain legal custody of a minor in the state of California? This is going to be uncontested. Thank you.

Re: Legal Custody

First, you have to establish jurisdiction. The child has to be in Cal at least 3 months and there is no custody order in any other state.

Second, you have to be a parent or apply for guardianship.

Third, file with the court and give notice to the other parent/s or guardians.
