Legal Question in Family Law in California

Legal ethics family law California

My mother is representing my fiance in a child custody case with his exwife. His exwife's attorney is intending to submit a photo of me and my mother to the court as evidence of my fiance's attorney being related to me. I am not a party to the case but my fiance's ex is trying to take custody away because I moved in with him so I am involved in the case to that extent. Are we doing something ethically or legally inappropriate by having my mother represent him? My mother has no personal relationship with my fiance's exxwife and has never met her.

The relationship if the attorney to the client or family members of the client is not relevant. The relevant factor is whether the attorney has a conflict of interest with the opposing party.

You are a factor in the case as you reside with father. Therefore you are in contact with the children while they are with father.
