Legal Question in Family Law in California
legal to leave the state/ houseboat
My boyfriend and father of our child is
demanding more rent and financial
support that I can provide.
He says if I don't agree to his terms
he will file for sole or joint custody
of our child. Presently I am now
locked out of his house and do not
have an address. My 'home' was/is a
houseboat. Great for a single person,
not so for mom and babe.
I can't sell it now for many varied
reasons. My credit is terrible, so it will
be difficult to get an apt.
My out of state parents want me
and my child to come live with them.
Can I do that?

yes

Before you move you should consult with an attorney about the facts of your case. Under some circumstances you can be ordered to return the child to California. Also it will not look good in court if you leave the state and are ordered to return the child.
