Legal Question in Family Law in California

Do I have any legal right to ask for a legally binding agreement from my ex husband in paying for our daughters college expenses since she is 18? I have tried to get a legally binding agreement with a notary but he refuses due to her age.

In California, your ex husband is only obligated to pay child support until your daughter turned 18, or up to age 19, if she would have still been a full time high school student living at home. He cannot be forced to pay for or contribute to his daughter's college expenses. The only way would be for him to agree in writing to do so, or agree to a court order for him to do so. Absent that, you will have to hope that he will contribute because it is the right thing to do.
