Legal Question in Family Law in California

Legal process

I think my ex-husband is trying to ''serve'' me for I don't know what, but anyhow... what are the ways he does that and does it have to reach me in person? Can he set a court date without my knowledge?

Re: Legal process

Yes, if he filed a Petition for Dissolution, generally, you have to be served in person.

Yes, he can get a court date set for a hearing without your permission.

Allow yourself to be served. You need to find out quickly what he's up to because you will need time to get an attorney.
