i dont know how to come about getting a legal separation? and is it the same as divorce ? i have no money and my husband isnt giving me any what do i do? we have been separated for a month and im living at my fathers house with my daughter and we have no money. what are my legal options?

Look for legal-aid organizations in your area that may be able to help you for free. You may try googling them. The Petition form for a legal separation is the FL-100, the same one as for divorce. However, there are many forms and filing requirements that each court requires.
A legal separation results in a judgment of separation of the parties. A dissolution results in the marriage being dissolved and no longer exists. The process for each is essentially the same. The major difference is the end result.
