Am I legally married?
In 1995 I was married to a woman I subsequently discovered had not finalized a previous divorce. Am I legally married, and if not how can I make sure? What if any protection can I take for finances, etc. We have a confidential marrige license. Thank you

If the divorce to your prior wife has not been completed you are not legally divorced. You should check the files of the court where the divorce was filed to determine if it was finalized. If it was not finalized then you should complete the divorce and then remarry.
