Legal Question in Family Law in California

Length of Spousal Support payments...

I need to know whether there's a set time frame in which spousal support ends. I was married for 13 years and have been paying ss for more than half of that time. Thank you.

In a general sense, on a long term marriage (10+ years) there is no set time. Each case is evaluated on its own merits, in accordance with Family Code Section 4320.

For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!

You will find some valuable information on various California family law issues (including a copy of F.C. 4320 and a discussion of spousal support) by visiting my web site.

Good luck to you!
