Legal Question in Family Law in California

Liability for debt on joint account after divorce

My wife divorced her ex about 7 years ago in CA. They settled out of court (she caved just to get out). One of the items on the agreement was that ''Respondent agrees to assume balances on any joint loans, credit cards or other accounts''. Roughly 8 months ago, Mr Fantastic quit paying on a former joint credit card and went 90 days delinquent. This has severely effected my wife's credit score. The bank claims they will not do anything about it.

Do we have any legal recourse?

Thanks in advance,

Bill

yes, you can have the Cal Disso Judgment converted to a civil judgment and enforce it through a wage assignment, bank levy, or property lien.
