Legal Question in Family Law in California

I currently live in Arkansas but have a child that resides with his father in Ca. Our divorce was in the Sacramento Family court. I have lived out of state for 2.5 years. My son stayed with my ex because the court said that moving him would take him away from all that he knew. Well I think that I need to file for an ex party hearing and get him out here. Over spring break he came to visit me and he told me that his step mom moved out and that he and his father would be moving. Threw out the week he let little things slide out about his home life. I am concerned about him staying with his dad at this point. Because his father travels for work which would mean my son would be left at least a week at a time a few times a month with his grandparents(one just had a knee replacement, the other is getting over a broken arm , they run a 20 archer goat ranch and they have custody of a 1.5 year old grand daughter). That and he is already struggling with school this is only going to make things worse. And also at the end of the week he tried to talk to his dad and tell him he wanted to stay here and all my ex would respond was he already paid for the ticket. What do I do.. What is the best way to go about this..

There really is nothing you can do except hire an attorney here and ask the court to let him move out to live with you.
