Legal Question in Family Law in California
we live in california my daughter who is 18 had a baby she is 6 months old my daughter is always gone for weeks at a time never calls to check on the baby she is doing illegal things i have a drug related case from 11 years ago that was a felony and a drug related case from 4 years ago that was a misdamenor is there anyway to get guardianship of my granddaughter so if something happens to my daughter they wont take the baby from me

You can try, but it may be very difficult if your daughter doesn't consent. Add your convictions to the mix and you have an uphill battle. On the other hand if the baby will be safe and well cared for with you, and abandoned if with the mother, and the alternative is foster care, you might succeed. If your daughter will agree, the chances are much better.
