Legal Question in Family Law in California
i live in california and my husband lives in mexico, hes been there for almost 3 years, they made him stay after he was declined papers to come here... we havent been together since hes been there so i went and got divorce papers to file but they said he would have to be served the papers in order to go through with the divorce, but i cant find him there and i have no idea where he staying at, we have 2 childeren together and he has stopped calling them... how would i still get the divorce if i cant find him to serve him the papers?

Due process requires proper service. If you cannot locate him through family, friends or last known addresses, then the court may grant you leave to serve your husband by notice of publication. This service technique is the least favorable and it is costly.
