Legal Question in Family Law in California

I live in California and my kids live in Oklahoma with there mother. I want to file for custody but don't know were I have to file here in California or in Oklahoma. And is there a way to file the papers myself

If the children have been living in Oklahoma for more than 6 months, then there is a high probability that where they currently live would be the proper forum for filing your request. Please speak with an experienced Oklahoma family law attorney to explore your legal options.

If there is an existing custody order that y want to change, you would file it in the court in which the original order was entered. If there is no existing order, I agree with Ms. Kock.
