Legal Question in Family Law in California
I live in California and the mother of my child lives in Flordia. I pay her monthly child support of $950 which I am told is excessively high since I make under $50,000? However my main concern is that my son does not live with his mother nor does she support him. My son lives with his faternal grandmother. I do not have a problem paying child support for my son, but my money is not going to my son, it is going to his mother who does not give anything to the grandmother. The grandmother does not want to fight her daughter in court. But I dont feel I should be sending her any more money. What legal routes do I have to follow to get my child support sent to the grandmother legally? The Flordia court only sent me petitions to modify my child support, which I want to do, but I would have to serve my sons mother which doesnt make sense to me to go through all that, when I really want the payments sent to the faternal grandmother. Please help.

If your divorce was in Florida and the child resides there, you need to put this question to a Florida attorney.
