Legal Question in Family Law in California

Say i don't want to live with my family because of to much drama. My mother is not stable to take care of two children. I live my grandparents ever since I was four, my mom is very controlling and is very crazy over little things. I cant go to my fathers because he is in jail for three more year and by then ill be eighteen. My friends mother said she would love to adopt me and take custody over me. My question is can that be possible?

If your family consents and she passes the qualifications, yes she can adopt you or be your guardian. If your family does not consent, it would be nearly impossible.
