Legal Question in Family Law in California

I live in San Francisco and would like to file for divorce. My spouse and I were married in TN, and have not seen nor spoken to each other in over 20 years. I know his place of residency in TN. We have no children or financial ties or property or any assets/debts to settle. How should I go about filing and what would be the easiest way given it is completely non-contested and no finance or custody issues.

If you meet the residency requirements, and he is not going to raise any jurisdictional issues, then you can file out here.

Pick up a current copy of "How to Do Your Own Divorce in California" by Nolo Press, take a look through it but don't worry about not understanding any of it, just get familiar with it. Then visit the Family Law self-help services at the San Francisco Superior Court: http://www.sfsuperiorcourt.org/self-help. As long as you have lived in CA for at least six months, and San Francisco for at least four, you can file and proceed through a simple divorce pretty easily between those two resources, especially if you know where your estranged husband is.
