Legal Question in Family Law in California
We live in Sonoma CA. I have been divorced for over 5 yrs now and my daughter who is 16 is not wanting to go to her fathers house on his weekends anymore - the children have been going every other weekend since the divorce. Do we have to file for a change in visitation or can she just tell him what she wants to do without getting the court involved?

You are free to informally modify visitation arrangements, but if you want it to be enforceable, or if he does not agree, you have to go to court and get a mod.
