i have lived with my boyfriend for over 20 yrs., we have 1 son together, he is 19yrs old and a full time college student. he has supported me thru out our relationship. 3 weeks ago left us. he paid the bills for this month, but has told me that is all the help he is going to give me, and there was nothing i could do about it because we were never married ive been looking for a job, but have not found one. i dont know what im going to do. is there anything i can do legally to get him to help me for a couple of months, until i find employment

Maybe. You do not provide enough facts to have any certainty, but yours is a situation in which a "Marvin" or "Palamony" claim might be successful. That's a pretty technical area of the law, though, so you are extremely unlikely to succeed if you don't hire a local attorney.
As Mr. McCormick has indicated, you may have a "Palimony" claim. The key issue is whether there was an agreement that one partner would support the other in return for the second making a home and performing other domestic duties beyond sexual pleasures. Written palimony contracts are rare, but the courts have found "implied" contracts, when a woman has given up her career, has managed the household, or assisted in the man's business for a lengthy period of time. (They are not easy cases).
