Legal Question in Family Law in California
If a Los Angeles County civil family protection order case was dismissed for lack of prosecution was and the the petitioner filed for a continuance and request to reissue the dismissed TRO after not showing up or calling at the hearing and the court denies both motions, can the petitioner still try and refile the case ?

That depends on whether it was dismissed "with prejudice" or "without prejudice." Matters dismissed "without prejudice" can be refiled. Matters dismissed "with prejudice" are permanently dismissed. Also, you can only file for a continuance before a hearing or proceeding.
