Legal Question in Family Law in California

Loss of potential offspring

I've always been curious about this.

Should a pregnant woman choose to abort her fetus, is there any legal foothold for the man responsible to sue based on loss of potential offspring?

I understand it has never been done before, and I'm not considering it, but nevertheless, based on your understanding of the law, is there any way to submit such a case that it would be heard?

As a bonus, what are your opinions of the ramifications of such a trial leading to an award?
