Legal Question in Family Law in California

I lost my parental rights about a year and a half ago because of lies my sister in law told. She then adopted my daughter. A couple months after she adopted my daughter my sister in law killed herself. My daughter is now a ward of the court and I would like to know if there is anything I can do to get her back. I have contacted the social worker and the woman who is now her guardian and neither will give me any information. I also hired an attorney he has taken $4,000 from me but is doing nothing. He told me he can't find a case with her name. I need some advice. Thank you from Orange County Calif.

If you lost your parental rights, it was through a dependency court action.

Adoptions after a termination of parental rights are also done through the dependency court. They are usually sealed after the adoption.

Your attorney is not giving me a warm fuzzy feeling. Your attorney should have been able to understand that, and be up front with you about your prospects after having your parental rights terminated, before taking your $4000.00.
