Legal Question in Family Law in California
what are my lrgal rights to return to live in california with my daughter?
I was persuaded by my ex to leave my home in California and move to Oregon, as he wanted to move up here with his business. He made promises and threats until I did moved. I have 60% custody, he has 40%. I have been here 3 months and cannot find a job, even though I have 20 years of experience in my field.I received a small inheritance and went in on a house with my sister here, as an investment. My ex says I have to stay, but I have hardly any money left and need to return to calif.,where
my child and I can live with my fiance again and I can find work. I did enroll my child in school here because I had no other alternative at the time (I hadn't yet received my inheritance, which is all depleted now). I need to know what my legal rights are and what I need to do legally to protect my daughter and my custody rights with her. Please, I am down to $9.00 and I need to know if I can return to California legally with my child to stay.If we can return to Calif.,what forms/steps do I need to do to safeguard my daughter and my custody with her?I cannot understand half of the legal jargon I read, please, please help me and my beautiful child. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Linn
