Legal Question in Family Law in California

I was sent by mail by my soon to be ex-husband from his lawyer: Notice of family settlement officer conference. This is in Santa Clara County in California. Please advise what I need to do, file to bring in this case. I don't even know what this basically entails. The case is next month in 3 weeks.

A Judicial Custody Conference is a meeting between the parties and their attorneys in an attempt to work out a custody and visitation (time share) agreement. Judges rarely make any orders in this conference unless the parties agree to the terms.

To prepare for this hearing you should decide before the conference the terms and conditions you want for custody and visitation. You should be prepared to present facts about father to justify any restriction on his time share. Such as the facts that support supervised visitation, assuming that this is an issue. Don't say this is what I want. Rather say This is in the best interests of the children. An explanation of why it is in the children's best interest should be prepared prior to the conference.

If possible go the the family clinic on Notre Dame Street. It is at the intersection of Notre Dame and Saint John across Notre Dame from the construction.

Being represented by an attorney is advisable.
