To make a change order in custody

I would like to change to order in my custody case.

The father of the children is incarcerated for not registering as a sex offender. The children went for a funeral and he never returned them, filed for custody w/out all his info and I failed to respond correctly, so therefore, they granted him custody.

Under the facts stated, I believe that you probably could change the court's custody order. You need to go to court and have an OSC (Order to Show Cause) regarding custody. However, do to some of the facts that you stated, the father being a convicted sex offender and you not responding to earlier custody proceedings, I strongly recommend that you hire an attorney. I know that attorneys are not cheap, but these issues require special attention. I would be happy to discuss the matter with you in greater detail.

You can probably get an order setting aside the current child custody order, but you will need an attorney, the kids are too important to risk another mistake. You may also contact child protective services in the county in which they are now living. They my help you. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
