Legal Question in Family Law in California

How can I make mother-in-law move out of house. We have supported her on our own (without money from her or others) for over 3 years (her other children did nothing). She stopped talking to us over 9 months ago and stays in the bedroom. When I confronted her recently she yelled at me stating she hated us and can't wait until she moves out then she will never see us again, yet she is still here. The stress she has put on our marriage is horrible. I want to know how to legally get her out of our house. Her other children and her own siblings refuse to take her (since she is a spitefull bitch, I imagine).

If you are the owners of the house, you have every right to ask that an unwanted guest be removed from your home. I would ask her again and put it in writing, if she refuses I would contact the police to see if they might help in having her extricated.

For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
