Legal Question in Family Law in California

marital debit queston

In Sept I will have been married for 5yrs. My husband has over 100,000 debit between back taxes, EDD, and back child support. My question is in the even of his death, will this debit fall on me? We do not file taxes together. I dont know if this matters but I filed an injuered spouce report the year that we got married, my tax prepairer advised this. I need to know how to protect myself for this debit which is not mines, please help. Thnks in advance for any advice you can give.--name removed--Rose

With a debt that large you should be consulting with an attorney regarding the facts. An attorney that has experience with taxes should be consulted regarding the tax debts.
