Legal Question in Family Law in California

Marriage

My husband's birth certificate has ''Deen'' indicated as his last name. His CADL has --name removed-- as well as his Social Security Card. We were married as --name removed-- with his birth certificate showing the correct spelling of his given last name (Deen) does this mean we are not ''legally'' married? We also have children (2 boys) with last names shown on their birth certificates as --name removed--. Please respond.

Re: Marriage

I'm am confident your marriage is "legal" but your husband needs to clean up his name with a legal name change. The court department that handles name changes is usually Probate. Visit the website of the court or Westlaw for more info on how to do it.
