Marriage in India, Divorce in USA

I and my husband came on individual H1 visa and have been working in San Jose, CA; for more than a year. It seems he was just interested in my earnings, now we have reached a point where we need mutual consent divorce. Will it be valid in India, if we apply here or do we need to go to India? How much time would it take? How much would be the fees and cost involved?

You should have to consult a legal authority in India to make sure that the divorce in US is legal there. In most cases though countries honor other countries legal decrees, as they do marriages. An uncontested divorce can range from 700 to 2000 depending on the attorney. Please shop around and see who you feel comfortable with.
