Legal Question in Family Law in California

During our marriage (lasted 1.5 years) my husband put vet expenses on HIS credit card for my dog. He is now claiming that I owe him the money. Is that true?

We go to court tomorrow and I would like to know. Thank you.

Generally speaking debts are considered joint debts during the marriage. So it doesn't mater whose name the debt is in. A debt will still be considered a joint debt.

You can contact the local family law facilitator in your court house to get self help information for self represented individuals.

Please contact a lawyer in your area before taking any legal action.

Good luck.
