Legal Question in Family Law in California

marriage outside of U.S.

I was married in 2000 in Tijuana

Mexico. I was told recently that

because we were married outside of

U.S. our marriage is not legal, is this

correct? We want our marriage to be

legal in the U.S. what do we need to

do? Should we remarry in the U.S.?

If your marriage was legal in Mexico it's legal in the United States. Since your marriage was legal (valid) in Mexican you do not have to get remarried.
