Legal Question in Family Law in California

Being in a marriage for nearly 25 years and now having a husband going through mid life crisis, may consider divorce for my own sanity. I have given up any career instead raising our children now in early 20's and university graduates. What would I be entitled to in alimony payments as the children are 22 and 23 now and would his retirement funds be available to me when he retires in a decade or would he have to divide that to me at this time? This is a devasting situation I never expected to be involved with.

Thank you.

Alimony, aka spousal support, is based upon a disparity in income between what you earn and what he earns. Without knowing those numbers, it would be impossible to determine.his pension(s) would be divided by a Q.D.R.O. Your portion would be divided out from his portion. Then your ability to draw from that pension would be based on his ability to draw from his portion of the pension. Sounds like you will need an attorney.
