In California, it takes a minimum of six months from the date the Respondent was served with divorce papers for marital status to terminate. If the Judge signed the divorce decree on October 5th, your marital status probably terminates on December 5th. Check online on the Court's website to see if the Judgment in your case was filed. On the first page of the Judgment it will list the date marital status terminates. You cannot remarry until after that date.
