Legal Question in Family Law in California
Married in Canada and in U.S
I'm a very succseful doctor here in the states. I have been married here for many years. I found a women in Canada that I love. Would it be legal for me to marry her? And also stay married to my wife here. What would be the consequences if it was not legal?

The previous response contains solid advice. If you're in love with two women at once, how solid is your marriage? You may wish to consult a counselor before an attorney to sort out your own feelings before you make a legal move. Good luck.
Re: Married in Canada and in U.S
It's called bigamy and it is a crime in the US and in Canada. You could go to jail. Also, when your wife found out you were giving time and money to your other friend, she'd probably divorce you and try to get back the money, if any, expended on the friend.
I don't know about Canada, but adultery is not a crime in California. I'm not recommending adultery, mind you, but it's better than bigamy.
If you want to marry the Canada person, you will have to divorce your wife.
