Legal Question in Family Law in California

Getting married in Canada. Is it Valid in the US.

My fiance and I would like to go to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and get married while vacationing. Will this marriage be valid in the California and the US? Will it have any legal or otherwise implications i.e. tax stuff, insurance, etc..? Is it the same as getting married in the states?

Yes, it's exactly the same as if you'd been married here. Before you leave, however, call the local officials and find out what documents you'll need in order to get married in Canada. You may need blood tests, doctors' certificates, proof of any prior divorces, your birth certificat...who knows? There may also be a waiting period between when you apply for a marriage license and when you can get married, so be sure and plan for that. If the red tape is too complicated, you could always have the ceremony there and then make it legal here. Congratulations!
