he married me 9/11/87 . i found his divorce decree from his 2nd marriage it stated the divorce was finalized on 10/05/87. does that mean were npt legally married.?

That is correct. You have a void marriage, which can create a lot of mess when it comes to things like insurance coverage through group plans, inheritance fights, etc. The only way to clean it up is to have an annulment done, and then remarry. You can have the marriage declared a "putative marriage" in the annulment, which will leave most legal aspects of the marriage intact. I have recently done a couple of these types of cases. Mr. McCormick is 100% correct and his advice is right on. These things are a mess. Get the help of a professional with this issue. Someone who knows what they're doing can help. Doing it on you own is not advisable.
