Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am married to my husband for one year and two months. The marriage is registered in INDIA and not in USA. We both are in separate H1B visas. I have been in california for the last 11 months. We have irreconcilible differences and we fight a lot. We have been living separately for more than a month now. He is not in contact with me at all. I don\'t know where he is staying. I have been in USA for the last six years. I want to apply for divorce, but since I am not an USA citizen and our marriage is not registered here. Can I apply for divorce in California. I have a job here so, can\'t leave it and go to INDIA. Please let me know the answer. Thank you very much in advance

Yes, you can file divorce here because you are a California resident. Doesn't matter where somebody got married.
