Legal Question in Family Law in California

I got married in India 6 years ago and moved to California the same year. My wife didn't come with me and stayed back in India. After trying every option to make things work, I traveled to India 4 years ago and filed for divorce but the proceedings in Indian courts have been really slow. Meanwhile she & her attorney have been demanding money for an out of court settlement. Can I file for a divorce in California and get this matter resolved?

I seriously doubt that California courts have personal jurisdiction over a woman in India who has never been to California.
