Your bigger mistake may turn out to be staying married. Yes, you are liable for his debts. You may be able to get them pinned on him as between you and him in a divorce judgment, but as between you and the creditors they can collect from you just as much as from him. So if he doesn't pay, they can come after you. There are exceptions and options that depend on the specific facts and circumstances, but you are better of not counting on finding a loophole. You need to get that divorce on file, unless you're planning on going back to him someday.
