Legal Question in Family Law in California

I got married in Mexico 15 years ago and never certified the marriage in California. I have resided in California the entire time. We have two children, aged 12 and 14. Am I liable for alimony if we dissolve our relationship?

California recognizes marriages entered into legally in other jurisdictions, including Mexico. There is not requirement that a foreign marriage be "registered" here to be valid, and you could be liable for spousal support, depending on the facts of the case.
