Legal Question in Family Law in California

Hi, I got married about 7 years ago in Las Vegas and I want now to divorce also my husband is agree.

My questions are:

1.- Do I have to stay in California to get divorce or I can go back to Mexico wich is my country. I will sign the papers and leave or I have to wait.

2.- We have two accounts with some money I will keep the one that has more, the question here is can I ask him for spous support or I can't since we are spplitting the money?

3.- If I leave he still can give me the spous support or I have to stay in California.

4.- I didn't finish my carrer and of course I cant find a good job in Mexico I used to be a Realtor in here.

Thank you,

Wendy

Your questions would be more appropriate for a local attorney to get a consultation from. If you are concerned over which country to divorce in you need to consult an attorney in Mexico since no attorney here would be familiar with Mexican law.

Your spousal support would be available depending on which party is in need of spousal support. If you are the low earner it may be approrpiate for you to request spousal support from him.

For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
