Legal Question in Family Law in California
I have been married for 20 years and we both work. We have shared the same house for that time but it is only her name that is on the mortgage loan. However, I have contributed to the upkeep of said house as well as contributing substantial amounts of my inheritance money to remodel it. In the event of a divorce, would the house be split down the middle?

The split would be more complicated than that, and there will probably be a fight over the nature of your inheritance contribution. You are going to need to pay a lawyer to sort this one out, and if you read my history of family law posts, I avoid saying people need a lawyer unless they really do.
