Legal Question in Family Law in California

Married less than 4 years/divorce

I have been married for 31/2 years. My spouse has served me with divorce papers. In the papers she is requesting half of my retirement, my thrift savings account and spousal support. What are my spouse's entitlements to the above. My spouse did not work during our marriage, however my spouse is capable of working. I have worked for 25 years.

Re: Married less than 4 years/divorce

Your spouse is entitled to one half of the increase in value of your retirement & financial accounts for the 3 1/2 years you were married. You will have to establish a value as of 3 1/2 years ago, and what the value is now. She gets one half of that. She is not entitled to spousal support.
