Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have been married for a yr in sept. and have a 7 month old and my husband is telling me that he is going to file for divorce and custody of our daughter tomorrow. I live in CA and he is stationed in Kansas in active duty. Can he be granted custody of our daughter?
