Mediators are providing services for the parties to help them reach a settlement on property, support and parenting issues. They do not provide legal advice. If your mediator is suggesting the need to get a lawyer, it would be prudent to meet with an attorney and explore what the issues may be that triggered the mediator's advice to seek your own attorney.
