medical insurance coverage

If court ordered in divorce degree, for me to keep up my husbands medical, dental insurance coverage, does my employer have to honor this order...I would very much like to keep up my husbands insurance preimiums through my employer for the next 5 years until he reachs 65. No I am not planning to remarry.

The only way that you can keep him on your medical insurance is to remain married to him. Once your marriage is over he is no longer your spouse and does not qualify for spouse coverage. The only other opportunity is for you to pay his COBRA coverage. This coverage is usually very expensive, several hundred a month. You have to pay the total monthly premium, that is the employer's share and your share.
